Annual Sports Day was celebrated at the Campus of Shanto Nibash, with a joyful atmosphere and great enthusiasm as students from Play Group to class V, showcased their talent, dedication and unparalleled sportsmanship.
Sporting events are not merely contests but a powerful medium to instill value of discipline, perseverance and teamwork in the students, especially so, in SMSCT students, all of whom originate from disadvantaged background.
The day commenced with a spirited opening ceremony during which the Project Director, Major (Retd) Nasir Uddin delivered a heart touching speech covering all aspects, of the institute from its inception to the present date. While highlighting two and a half years of its march from 3rd July 2021, he recalled the dreams of the Founder Chairman, Late Md. Imamul Kabir Shanto, who focused rehabilitating specifically, the down-trodden and neglected orphan children of the society, for bringing them under a healthy growth which he thought rightfully, they deserve.
Present on the occasion among others were Honorable Chairman, Shanto-Mariam Foundation, Honorable Chairman, Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology, Honorable Managing Director, Sundarban Courier Service Pvt Ltd., Honorable Chairman, School Managing Committee, Honorable Vice Chancellor, Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology and Honorable Members of the Board and High Executives of the Foundation, Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology and Sundarban Courier Service Pvt. Ltd.
The Chairman of the Foundation, Dr. Ahsanul Kabir, delivered a motivating speech too, underscoring the significance of sports in the lives of children. In his speech, he sounded promises of rehabilitating in the very near future, significantly abandoned elderly women and minor girls who in our society, are the most neglected and abused.
The Chairman, Board of Trustees, Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology, Prof. Mustafizul Hoq, promised his moral support for setting-up of similar human welfare related ventures in the line of SMSCT, in future for the helpless.
The Managing Director, Sundarban Courier Service Pvt. Ltd., Engr. Sk Tanvir Ahmed Rony and the Chairman, School Managing Committee, Dr Anjuman Ara Begum, underscored the needs for an all-out effort to promote and improve the quality of education and harness wholeheartedly children’s potential both physically and mentally.
The team sports witnessed intense matches, with students demonstrating remarkable teamwork and sportsmanship.
The closing ceremony was nothing short of a spectacular turnout. Trophies were awarded to the winners whence cheers of encouragement and appreciation resounded throughout the venue.
