Message from the Chairman
Shanto-Mariam Foundation
Dear All,
I, as the Chairman of Shanto-Mariam Foundation, a social charity working for the welfare of fellow human-beings, would like to take this opportunity to welcome you all and present the activities of the Shanto-Mariam Foundation before you. I have the privilege of being the younger brother of the dynamic Founder of Shanto-Mariam Foundation, the Freedom Fighter, Late Md. Imamul Kabir Shanto, who established this Foundation to contribute to nation building, so that we as a nation can achieve the high goals of the Liberation War. In so doing, I have been mandated with the task as the Chairman, upon the Founder’s demise in May 2020, to work and continue his legacy of serving the humankind.
I am committed to the vision of the late Founder and to ensuring the expansion of our activities centring the lives of underprivileged and helpless destitute. The Foundation’s works have a focus on creating economic opportunities and accelerating social development activities. We are grateful to Almighty that our efforts are taking roots and making impact across the society.
As a doctor cum former medical practitioner, I have had the privilege of both domestic as well as international exposure in helping build medical and health facilities, which I believe an area where there is a lot of opportunities for us to contribute as a socially benevolent Foundation. As a result, we have expanded our activities in efforts that aim to improve health and medical facilities for the people as well.
In so doing, I wish to reaffirm our commitment to the Foundation’s four core work principles that the focus of SMF remains to human resource development, creating opportunities for affordable job-oriented education and distributed learning, promoting cultural and creative education, and helping transform indigenous natural resources of the country into products of value.
With these efforts, we are dedicated to achieving both short-term and long-term milestones that will bring benefits to all. It is essential for us to never lose sight of Shanto-Mariam Foundation's purpose, which is to work with a solemn and selfless approach for the development of the nation of Bangladesh.
