The Shanto-Mariam Foundation: Empowering Lives
Established in 2002, the Shanto-Mariam Foundation stands as a beacon of social welfare. Its creation was inspired by the late Imamul Kabir Shanto, a visionary who held fervent beliefs in education, social service, and the spirit of the liberation war. Despite his untimely passing during the Covid-19 pandemic, his legacy lives on through the dedication of his younger brother, Dr. Md. Ahsanul Kabir, who now leads the foundation as its chairman.
Under Dr. Md. Ahsanul Kabir’s guidance, the foundation has unwaveringly pursued its mission of enhancing lives. Its core focuses encompass affordable education, skill development, job-oriented vocational and creative learning, as well as creating economic opportunities, particularly for the disadvantaged members of society.
Throughout its journey, the foundation has undertaken diverse initiatives. These include projects aimed at bolstering education, healthcare, housing, orphanages, and homes for the elderly. Notably, SMF has heightened its emphasis on constructing healthcare facilities and supporting vulnerable communities facing distress.
Presently, the foundation operates on an expanded scale, poised to make an even more significant impact in its mission to uplift lives and create a better future for all.
