Promoting Art and Culture
PROMOTING ART AND CULTURE
Art and culture play a vital role in shaping a nation's growth and identity on the global stage. The
Shanto-Mariam Foundation recognizes this significance and has made promoting art and culture one
of its core principles since its establishment. The Foundation firmly believes that a nation's cultural
development and respect for its own cultural identity are pivotal in shaping its aspirations and
standing in the international community.
In a country like Bangladesh, where diverse ethnicities and religious groups coexist harmoniously, the respect for native culture and celebrations serves to bind the people together. Since its inception, the SMF has been actively contributing to the promotion of art and culture through a variety of programs that focus on expanding cultural education and celebrating cultural festivities and events.
The Foundation actively engages in cultural exchange initiatives by collaborating with renowned
cultural personalities and groups. Workshops, exhibitions, and cultural events are organized to
foster a deeper appreciation for different art forms and to promote cultural exchange among the
masses. The SMF also takes special care to observe national occasions with programmes centred
around art and culture, including competitions and exhibitions to encourage artistic expressions.
To nurture young talents and promote art and culture at an early age, the SMF has established an art
gallery and the Shanto-Mariam Academy of Creative Technology in Uttara. The academy offers
educational courses for children in various art forms such as music, drawing, painting, recitation, and
dance. These courses are taught by renowned cultural personalities who dedicate themselves to
mentoring the young talents with utmost care and dedication.
By emphasizing the importance of art and culture and actively supporting its promotion, the Shanto-
Mariam Foundation contributes significantly to the cultural growth and enrichment of the nation,
fostering a sense of pride and identity among its people.
