Four Work Plan
Four Work Plan
In order to carry forward the full benefits of the national independence to the
common people, the Late Md. Imamul Kabir Shanto set forth the following four
work plans for the Shanto-Mariam Foundation:
Expansion of Job-Oriented and Distributed Learning/Online Education
The prevailing education
system has been forcing the country to shift towards a degree culture. In order to
free people from being unemployed, job orientated education was thought to be
rightful solution and lessons through distributed learning and online platforms
could benefit the common people. Through job oriented vocational education
system, trained youths can enter the job market at the age of eighteen and nineteen
years, as they do in the developed countries, instead of twenty five and twenty six
years as is the practice in our country, and the nation can get millions of hours of
productive labor from the skilled and energetic hands. This will help build the
nation and the job holder will subsequently be able to attain higher education in
their chosen fields through distance and online education. This includes computer
learning and skills.
Make Use of Natural Resources
Utilization of natural and indigenous resources
of the Country such as jute, bamboo, leather, handicraft, tea, garment and textiles.
These have been hitherto neglected. For proper use of these resources, it was felt
that dedicated efforts are needed to transform these basic raw materials into world
class products and evolve an effective marketing system. Hence, importance of
technical education and its implementation through impartation of vocational
training was thought to be the only course and foundation chose to promote design
education for the first time in the country and integrated design education with
technical and vocational training and thus gave it completeness.
Expansion of Cultural Education
Expansion of cultural education: Bangladesh is the common home of the
individuals of different religions and ethnicity where they are living in harmony.
Religion is man’s belief but culture is the common bond that unites different
people of different religion and ethnicity. Therefore, to establish Bangladesh as a
nation with high dignity and high humane qualities, cultural education and its
development is very important.
Building Human Resources
Human resource is our principal asset. The
Foundation works to transform the Country’s vast population into a skilled human
resource through the expansion of job-oriented education and training, and make
the people competent and skilled, gain employment at home and abroad and earn
foreign exchange in the short and long run.
