Fostering Creativity in Children
The late Md. Imamul Kabir Shanto, Founder Chairman of the Shanto-Mariam Foundation, had a
strong desire to see children flourish with creative skills. He believed that creative skills were crucial
for the development of young minds and that the cultivation of cultural pursuits played a significant
role in instilling humane qualities in a person. As a result, the Shanto-Mariam Foundation created
programmes through the Shanto-Mariam Academy of Creative Technology to nurture creative and
cultural skills at an early age in a formal and disciplined manner.
Recognizing this need, SMF offers courses that are open to all, starting from children aged 5 years
and above. The subjects offered include:
- Music
- Dance
- Instrumental Music
- Drawing and Art
- Recitation
- Arabic
Over the years, the Academy has successfully built a strong foundation of talents with an ever-
expanding reach across the society. In addition to the current programmes, the SMF, under the
guidance of the present Chairman, Dr. Ahsanul Kabir, is working on more plans to develop activities
that can benefit and reach the common people of the country. The Foundation is committed to
fostering creative skills and cultural pursuits to contribute to the overall growth and development of
individuals and the society as a whole.
